What is SEO?

Put simply, SEO or search engine optimisation is what we do to ensure that your website gets a better place on the search engine result page or SERP.  When a potential customer types into Google the service you offer and your local area you need to show up on the first page of the results they are shown.

This process can be divided into onsite and offsite SEO.  Work done on your website and work done off your site to improve your rankings.

Onsite optimisation is anything that you do within your website to improve its chances of being seen in major search engines. It’s all about making your website search friendly. There are elements on a website that can be improved, or “optimised” so the search engines have an easier time understanding what your content is about.

Offsite SEO is the next step after onsite SEO. Once you have everything updated and looking well, you should focus on optimising the external elements of search engine optimisation.

Anything that you do outside your website that is related to search engine optimisation can be considered as offsite SEO. Some examples of offsite actions include link building, promotions, advertising and guest posting.
